Implant Planning & Surgical Guides

Guided surgery is fast becoming the standard of care in the modern world.

Belize has access to CBCT technology.  All implant planning cases performed by us require a CBCT scan.  

Intraoroal scanning technology is also available, needed for ctreating stl files used in implant planning and surgical guide design.  All implant planning cases performed by us require intraoral scans.  If you do not have an intraoral scanner yet, allow us to intoduce you the PANDA free and PANDA smart intraoral scanners.  LEARN MORE

Allow us to perfectly plan your implant case, based on years of experience from single unit to full arch cases.

We use NemoScan Implant Planning Software from Nemotec- SPAIN, a Henry Schein Company.  NemoScan is the worlds most advanced implant planning software that gives us abilities that no other software on the market gives.

We believe in offering flexible services, based on your needs.  In-Office printing is by far the most cost effective option and many dental offices have invested in their own 3D-printer.  If you need some advice on 3D printers, feel free to CONTACT US.

Options

Implant Planning with Guide Design Only

Choose this option if you have an in-office 3D printer.

You provide us with the CBCT and IOS scans.

  • We plan the case and design the surgical guide.
  • We send you the surgical guide design file, the model design file and surgical report in pdf format.
  • You 3D-print the surgical guide and model (optional).
  • You print the surgical report.

Implant Planning with Printed Guide

Choose this option if you want us to take care of manufacturing.

You provide us with the CBCT and IOS scans.

  • We plan the case and design the surgical guide.
  • We 3D-print the surgical guide and model and print the surgical report.
  • We ship the case to your clinic.

Gingiva Contouring Guide

These guides are used to contour the gingiva in healed sites to ensure a more aesthetic emergence profile.

These guides are designed from the design of the final restoration.  A soft tissue laser is typically used.  

Apex Locator Guide

Due to a lack of adequate buccal bone, it is occasionally neccesary to perform Partial Extraction Therapy (PET) or the Socket Shield Technique.

These guides guide a 2mm drill to the apex of the tooth to be extracted, simplifying and speeding up the process. 

Since the planning for the PET is done at the same time as the planning for the implant placement, we ensure that the socket shield will not interfere with the planned implant position.

These guides are used for full-arch FP1 and FP3 cases and can be gingiva-supported or bone-supported.  These cases are complex and typically performed by Dental Specialists.  We use JB Dental Lab in the USA for the design and manufacture of the final prosthesis, but we can manufacture the temporary prosthesis locally.  Feel free to use your preferred lab.

Atraumatic Extraction Guide

Coronal reduction guide reduces the crown to 1mm supragingival.
3 Holes of 2mm diameter is created fully guided to the forkation.
The three holes are connected to create the optimal path of extraction.

This is yet another unique service we offer.  

We plan the extraction of multi-rooted teeth to ensure the preservation of bone and gingival contours during extraction.  

We provide a coronal reduction guide and a root sectioning guide.  

Three pilot holes of 2mm in diameter guides the angulation of sectioning to ensure the optimal path of extraction of each root.

In some cases a second sectioning guide is provided for diverging buccal roots.

These guides are often used in conjunction with the All-In-Implant™ system to ensure bone and gingival contours are preserved.

Immediate Load

This option is chosen when an implant is placed in a healed site and adequate primary stability is expected for immediate loading.  A minimal torque value of 45Ncm and an ISQ reading of more than 70 is the standard for immediate loading.

For these cases, you can also consider a gingiva contouring guide to create a more natural emergence profile. (See Gingiva Contouring Guides below)

  • We design and manufacture the separate custom abutment and temporary crown or screw retained temporary crown.

We invented the All-In Implant™ workflow and we are currently the only planning center in the world offering this service.  These implant restorations are our specialty and we have successfully completed hundreds of these cases since 2021.  The system is aimed at preservation of the interdental papillae and emergence profile of the natural tooth.  For this reason, the tooth to be replaced must still be present and will be extracted at the same appointment as the implant placement.
